Duke Energy Digital Lab
Regional mobile computer lab to prepare teens for the digital future

Tallahassee, FL: LeMoyne Arts, in partnership with the Jefferson Art Center, Monticello, is excited to announce, the new Duke Energy Digital Lab. A STEAM project, the Digital Lab will offer Adobe Suite 101 to teens in Jefferson and Leon counties. This traveling lab is the result of a $10,000 grant received by LeMoyne Arts, Education, from Duke Energy.

LeMoyne Arts Education will begin teaching Adobe Suite 101 classes in their Digital Lab January 15, 2018, for an eight-week session. Teens in Leon County can register for this course at for a fee of $ 80/8 weeks. Teens in Jefferson County can register at the Jefferson Arts Center (850) 997-3311 for $20/8 weeks. This course will run four times a year and will be instructed by Bob Copper, Jefferson Arts Center.

preparation for the technology driven world we live in today.”

The entire Adobe Suite will be covered in this class and each student will receive additional training in the program they are most interested; Adobe Photoshop® CS with Adobe ImageReady® CS, Adobe Illustrator® CS, Adobe InDesign® CS, Adobe GoLive® CS, and Adobe Acrobat® 6.0 Professional.

LeMoyne Arts: Creating Community through Art since 1963, LeMoyne Arts has been a fine art gallery and venue for art education activities for the citizens of North Florida for the past 54 years. LeMoyne Arts Education’s goal is to provide high-quality and affordable art education to all who are interested in enriching their lives through the visual arts and to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities in the arts, targeting the interests and talents of students. The education program is part of why LeMoyne is recognized as a valuable, multi-dimensional community resource. Educational programming is a primary strategy for LeMoyne is realizing its mission of increasing awareness and appreciation of the visual arts.

Jefferson Arts: Our goal is to provide essential support for artistic activities and cultural undertakings in our community.  We will maintain classroom, studio and gallery space for visual art, focusing on Florida artists and local school exhibitions. By sponsoring school outreach classes and other cultural programs, Jefferson Arts will foster Art appreciation and awareness for the citizens of Jefferson and surrounding counties. Jefferson Arts Gallery was founded in 1997 and is located in the "Old Agricultural" building of the original Jefferson County High School at 575 West Washington Street (HWY 90), Monticello, Florida. 

Guitar Classes

Jefferson Arts will now be offering guitar classes for begginer and intermediant levels on Mondays and Tuesdays....Instructor will be Steve Johnson, former lead guitarist for Christian rock and praise band "Rain" out of Jacksonville Fl...904-531-8394

Plein Air

The Monticello Plein Air Painters Society will be making its debut Aug 5th at the Wirick Simmons Historical Homes of Jefferson County....Public welcome to come out and watch local artist painting on location....Contact The Jefferson Arts Gallery or Steve Johnson 904-531-8394 for more information....

JAGS 1st meeting for Fall Agendas...
Wednesday, August 30th will be our 1st meeting in 3 months.....We are gearing up for our fall events, so come with ideas creative, and pragmatic....It's always an exciting time of year with cooler weather, the holidays, and spectacular fall colors, and good food and lots of things to get our creative spirits soaring....Looking forward to seeing everyone....

The Duke Energy Foundation Grant

     Rock Painting Event

Jefferson Arts Gallery and Freds will be putting on a Rock Painting Event this Saturday October 28th at Freds from 10am til noon….There will be art teachers there to help you with painting your masterpiece on a rock…It will be free thanks to Freds customers generous donations taken up this month…There is a local rock painting group on Facebook “Monticello Rocks” that you can join and post your creations, hide and find painted rocks around town…Come join the rock painting movement by painting rocks at Freds…The instructors will show you everything you need to know about this new way to have fun and channel your creative talents at the same time…
