My name is Vickie Hooks Gallina. I am a quilter. Quilting is my passion.
I have been quilting for approximately 40 years and consider myself an advanced quilter. I have taken classes from internationally known art quilters. Their style or method of work may not be something I would normally do but I like taking the classes to learn new techniques.
My art work is created with fabric and paint. For me the designing of the project is the most intense. Once I have the design down on paper I start picking the fabric and colors to use. Depending on the project I can spend at least 5-6 hours a day in my studio until it is finished. The project may be a traditional quilt or an art quilt.
I also enjoy helping other quilters or seamstresses with projects and teaching new techniques/shortcuts I have learned. Quilt Repair: If a quilt can be repaired I will try.
